The Coital Alignment Technique (CAT) is a sex position combined with a sexual movement technique that facilitates clitoral orgasm. Sometimes called the “greatest sexual position in the world,” the “new and improved missionary position,” and the “new intercourse,” this technique replaces deep thrusting with subtle, coordinated rocking.
Most women need to have clitoral stimulation in order to reach orgasm. Traditional thrusting in the missionary position seldom achieves this because the clitoris is about an inch (2-3 cm) closer to the front of the woman’s body than the vaginal opening. Therefore, it’s possible, even probable, that thrusting either misses the clitoris altogether, or that clitoral stimulation is indirect or sporadic. The CAT allows the man and woman’s combined thrusting to do the job.
CAT is basically a revised missionary position, with the man on top and face to face with his partner. What’s different is that the man has vaginal intercourse with his partner from a higher angle than usual, putting pressure on the woman’s clitoris while he enters and re-enters her in response to her pelvic thrusts.
The man enters initially from between the woman’s legs, which are apart and slightly bent. but then he rides up on her pelvis slightly, just enough so that the base of his erect penis pushes up against her clitoris. The woman can then wrap her legs around his, trying to extend the stretch of her legs so that her ankles are about at the height of his calves. With this position a woman can then begin to thrust her own pelvis, repeatedly making contact between her clitoris and the base of his penis.
When performing CAT, the main thing to keep in mind is maintaining contact with the clitoris. The overall movement is much less a thrusting than a synchronized rocking back and forth with the focus on the clitoris and the base of the penis.
Here’s the most important part: As she pushes up on the top of his shaft, he resists with less force than she pushes. Now, on the way back down, as he pushes down against her clitoris, she resists with less force than he pushes. The result is a series of “small collisions,” rather than the standard friction of thrusting though “collisions” is an exaggeration. The movement is subtle, coordinated, gentle, rhythmic, and slow-building.
She enjoys constant clitoral stimulation and vibration on the nerve-rich area just below the G-spot. He enjoys the massaging action on his penis shaft, which stimulates the prostatic nerves, the male counterpart to the G-spot. Stimulating these deeper layers of nerves creates a “warm, melting feeling” during intercourse, which deepens the experience for both partners.
Though it may take a bit of practice, studies have found that about three-quarters of women are able to have “no-hands” orgasms with CAT, compared to the well-accepted average of 30 percent. In addition, the coital alignment technique often leads to simultaneous orgasm – the natural potential of the sex act.
One of the worst things that can happen to any man is not being “sure” if he has finally given his woman a climax. Over 70% of women claim that their partners have never given them an orgasm with intercourse, and 65% of women admit to faking orgasms. Just imagine being so sexually skilled that you can literally have any woman screaming with pleasure and sexually exhausted from a night of orgasm after orgasm.
